Man Shot In Newark: Police

A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Saturday, June 16, authorities said.

At 7:33 p.m., officers responded to Van Vechten Street near Hanford Street and found a man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The man was transported to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
